Sam Shepard, actor, director, screenwriter & playwright, dies aged 73.

We are very sad to report that renowned Hollywood actor Sam Shepard has died aged 73. The actor, director, playwright and screenwriter had been unwell for some time and passed away yesterday, Sunday 30th July, at his home in Kentucky surrounded by family. Shepard was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in Philip Kaufman’s superb 1983 biopic The Right Stuff for his portrayal of legendary pilot Chuck Yeager. His numerous film appearances include Days Of Heaven (1978), Steel Magnolias (1989), The Pelican Brief (1993), Black Hawk Down (2001), The Notebook (2004) and Midnight Special (2016). Shepard also received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1979 for the play “Buried Child”, was nominated for the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for the play “True West” and was nominated yet again in 1984 for the play “Fool for Love”.
