Stranger Things Season 3 cast to include more ‘80s icons.

Whilst specific plot details are closely guarded for the third season of Stranger Things, a small bit of casting news has been revealed for the third instalment of the hit Netflix show.

Keeping in accordance with the show’s running trend of the inclusion of actors famous for their roles in the 1980’s such as Winona Ryder, Matthew Modine, Paul Reiser, and The Goonies very own Sean Astin, another actor set to grace the streets of the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana is actor Cary Elwes, fondly remembered by many for his portrayal of the swashbuckling Westley in Rob Reiner’s 1987 comedy, The Princess Bride.

The cult fantasy adventure also starred a young Robin Wright as well as the late, great wrestling legend André the Giant. Elwes will take on the role of the town’s Mayor Kline.

Also announced as joining the cast is Jake Busey, son of another ‘80s icon, Gary Busey, who played the Mr Joshua in 1987’s Lethal Weapon. Busey Jr is said to be playing a character called Bruce, but little else has been revealed about his character.

The announcement was made by Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos at a See What’s Next event in Rome.
