Bill Murray has confirmed that will reprise his beloved role of scientist, Doctor Peter Venkman in the upcoming sequel, Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
Though Murray did make a cameo as a different character in the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot, this will be the first time audiences will get the chance to see him back in the famous overalls since 1989’s Ghostbusters II.
Speaking to Variety he stated;
“Well, we are a man down. That’s the deal and that’s the story that we’re telling, that’s the story they’ve written.”
Seemingly this also confirms the return of the remaining original Ghostbusters cast, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson as Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore respectively.
The new movie is directed by Jason Reitman, son of the original films’ director Ivan Reitmam, and also stars Paul Rudd as a science teacher whose students find themselves in the middle of a paranormal catastrophe.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife opens in theaters July 10th.
